Family Heart Screening
The clinic screens families for potentially life-threatening inherited heart conditions – such as Sudden Arrhythmic Death Syndrome (SADS) – and needs €300,000 per year to stay open
What else is needed?
Patient care is at the centre of everything we do. We work closely with doctors and nurses to identify what the patients need most.
That could be wheelchairs. Or, medical research. Or, refurbishing family rooms so patients and their loved ones have somewhere private and quiet.
Other areas you can help
We invest in the spinal injuries unit and end of life care, amongst many other hospital departments and wards. Take a moment to read how your donations have helped to change lives.
Future needs
The Mater Hospital Foundation is being relied upon to raise more and more funds for vital projects in the hospital.
Read about the hospital’s plans and how your support is essential to achieve them.
Research & Clinical Trials
We’re dedicated to providing adequate, and stable, funding for essential medical research at the Mater Hospital.
How change happens
Advancing Care for Every Patient, Every Day
Identifying needs
We work with the staff of the hospital to identify equipment that needs to be purchased, facilities in need of improvement and other important projects.
Fundraising
Our supporters organise everything from charity cycles to coffee mornings to fund crucial hospital projects. We also apply for grants and seek corporate support.
Improved patient care
The patients always come first. Whether that is exercise bikes that help them recuperate after operations, or a family room for a very ill patient’s family.
Patient Stories
We are privileged to meet some remarkable and inspiring patients that have spent time getting better in the Mater Hospital, and on many occasions, the treatment they received has saved their lives. Please take a moment to read their stories.
