Urgent Needs
The Mater Hospital Foundation is being relied upon to raise more and more funds for vital projects within the Mater Hospital. We need to raise €3 million each year to ensure important equipment is purchased, patient comfort is improved, and research is carried out to advance care in the hospital. As always, you – our supporters – are the key to this. A gift, no matter how small, can have an extraordinary impact.
Below are some projects we are fundraising to complete.
- Physiotherapy rehabilitation equipment for cardiothoracic and transplant patients to enable them to get back on their feet after surgery and assist them return to home quickly.
- Electric beds for patients receiving cancer treatment in the hospital, to improve their comfort and independence.
- An ECHO imaging machine for the Family Heart Screening Clinic, which is used as part of the suite of testing for potentially fatal inherited cardiac conditions.
- Family rooms that provide quiet, calm space away from busy wards so families of patients can speak with hospital staff and take time to stay together close to their loved one.
