One of the best ways to give to the Mater Hospital Foundation is through a regular monthly donation. This type of giving is of great importance to us as it allows us to make longer-term plans to support the Mater Hospital, knowing there’s a reliable source of income to count on.
Usually our regular donations are set up through a monthly direct debit system where your bank transfers a specified amount each month to the Foundation. These direct debits can be as big or small as you like. You can set up regular giving through direct debit either online through our site, by downloading a form and posting it back to us, or even over the phone, if you prefer.
If your combined giving amounts to €250 or more in a year, the Mater Hospital Foundation can claim tax relief on it from Revenue.
For example, if you donate €21 per month by direct debit, this will total to €252 in a calendar year. This means we could qualify to receive up an additional 45% – all at no extra cost to you, making your kindness go even further.

From time to time, the Mater Hospital Foundation carries out door-to-door fundraising to recruit regular givers. By signing up, you are ensuring we have a consistent income to help better patient care.
Door-to-Door fundraising typically employs a team of fundraisers who call to people’s homes to talk about the work of the Mater Hospital and asks the homeowner or family member for support by setting up a monthly direct debit.
Mater Foundation door-to-door fundraisers will carry an ID badge and will usually wear a Mater Hospital Foundation branded jacket. They will be happy to talk to you about the work of the foundation and how it supports patient care in the hospital.
The direct debit you set up goes towards the areas of most need in the Mater Hospital. We make sure the funds are invested in new and crucial equipment, education and research, and to redevelop areas of the hospital such as wards and family rooms. Our fundraisers will be glad to explain this in more details to ensure you are satisfied with where your money is invested.
